Mediation & Arbitration
Alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation, arbitration, and other means of resolving disputes outside of a courtroom, is often a cost-effective approach to resolving commercial disputes.
Our clients have increasingly found that the privacy, flexibility and relative speed of ADR make it a logical choice in business disputes of all kinds, including those featuring complex financial matters. Stokes Lawrence understands the pros and cons of ADR and has successfully handled cases in which arbitration or mediation is required by contract, ordered by a court, or agreed to by the parties.
Our approach includes working closely with our clients to determine the best dispute resolution process to meet their needs. Our attorneys’ arbitration experience, from the perspective of both arbitrator and lawyer/advocate, allows us to effectively counsel clients on strategies for pursuing positive outcomes in either mediation or arbitration proceedings.
Regardless of the forum, we pride ourselves on gaining a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and goals at the outset, leveraging our ability to manage complex, multidimensional cases to the best possible outcome. With experience representing large and small clients in mediation and arbitration, our attorneys give clients peace of mind in achieving successful, timely, and cost-effective results.
Many of our attorneys have completed Pepperdine Straus Institute’s Mediating the Litigated Case program or the International Trademark Associations Panel of Neutral training, and are certified as a Rule 39.1 Neutral in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program. Our areas of focus representing clients are in the following: aviation, complex tort, personal injury, business litigation, trust and estate disputes, employment, and intellectual property.
