Stokes Lawrence was again ranked nationally as a top 10 law firm for women by Law360 in its “Glass Ceiling Report.” Each year, the publication recognizes law firms that are leaders in gender diversity in the legal community. To determine its listing, Law360 reviewed data from more than 300 firms. The firms were divided in categories by size and ranked on their proportion of female attorneys and female equity partners. The firm was also ranked on the Law360 “Ceiling Smashers” list, which recognizes the top 10 firms outpacing their peers in their female partnership ranks. Stokes Lawrence ranks fourth nationally for firms with 51-100 lawyers.

“We are proud of the gender diversity at our firm,” noted Managing Shareholder Kelly Twiss Noonan. “Statistics show that women lawyers frequently encounter barriers to advancement in their careers at law firms. That is not the case at Stokes Lawrence.”

In January, the firm became a majority women-owned firm, with women comprising 56% of the firm’s equity shareholders. This is the second time the firm has reached this milestone. “We have always had a high percentage of women lawyers and owners, which is historically unusual for law firms,” Kelly noted.
