Stokes Lawrence attorneys Kathleen Burton and Rachael Wallace have been featured as rising stars in the monthly Next Gen in Law series by the Puget Sound Business Journal. Each month, the journal highlights some of the Puget Sound region's emerging legal talents that provide crucial advice to the business community.

In the article, the journal highlights Kathleen's expertise in corporate law, which she uses to guide clients toward making the right decisions. She often serves as an outside general counsel for her corporate clients and helps them navigate through mergers and acquisitions by representing both buyers and sellers in various equity and asset transfers. To date, Kathleen has represented clients in over $475 million worth of transactions.

Kathleen finds it rewarding when clients seek her initial take on strategy, even when legal issues have not yet arisen. She provides them with practical advice and legal expertise, setting them up for the best possible outcomes.

As for Rachael, she specializes in product liability and aviation tort and contract disputes, and also provides advice on aviation-specific employment disputes. She believes that being a perpetual student and mentoring others are crucial to success. Rachael's mentor, a senior partner she has worked with for much of her career, taught her the importance of continuous learning and passing on knowledge to others. As a result, Rachael and her team always operate collaboratively, supporting each other and lending a hand when needed.
